Find Your Full Expression
In yoga, the full expression of a pose isn’t about perfection. It’s whatever your body can offer today—free from comparison of yesterday, pressure of the present, or expectation of the future.
We chose this name because our work is no different. At Full Expression Therapies, finding your full expression means rediscovering who you are, how you feel, and how you want to live.

Mission & Beliefs
At Full Expression Therapies, our mission is simple: healing through therapy, movement, and community—supporting full expression in people and in practice.
-
We do not hide behind jargon, hierarchy, or profit motives. Our clients know who we are, what we believe, and how we practice.
-
We believe the body is where trauma lives and where recovery begins. We center body-based work—movement, breath, awareness—because healing happens in the nervous system, not only the mind.
-
We honor creativity as essential to healing and core to the human experience. Through voice, art, movement, writing, and relationship, we support each client and clinician in discovering a fuller expression of themselves.
-
We build collective spaces for healing. Groups, workshops, mutual aid, advocacy, and social action are forms of belonging that sustain us. Community is not separate from therapy; it is part of our commitment to relational healing.
-
We make care accessible through equity. Our sliding scale is grounded in collective care: when clients with more financial privilege contribute more, they sustain access for those with fewer resources. Affordability is not charity; it is shared responsibility.
-
We uphold labor rights, fair compensation, clinician autonomy, and professional sustainability. This integrity in our practice sustains our clinicians, and in turn, sustains the healing space our clients depend on.
-
We are not neutral. We are committed to advocacy for liberation, anti-racism, queer and trans affirmation, reproductive freedom, and anti-oppressive clinical work.
Susie Balcom, LCSW
Susie Balcom, LCSW, is a trauma therapist, registered yoga teacher, and certified dance instructor doing this work since 2015 — not just as a career, but as a calling. Trauma work clicked in the way that only the truest things do: it gave her a language for understanding herself and the world around her.
She believes healing lives in the body as much as the mind. Whether it's a long walk with her dog Mayson or making yoga feel like a dance, Susie knows firsthand what it means to come back to yourself through movement.
She has a deep passion for helping people discover that self-expression isn't reserved for artists — it's everywhere. You'll find hers in aerial arts, interior design, and a colorful vocabulary. (Science says swearing is good for the brain. She stands by this.)
She founded Full Expression Therapies to make healing more accessible and rooted in collective care — because none of us heal alone. She is EMDR-certified, an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, pursuing AASECT sex therapy certification.
Stay Connected
Modalities
We integrate multiple trauma-informed approaches to help each person reconnect to their full expression.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
A well-researched, body-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories — so they stop feeling so present and overwhelming.
Susie is a certified EMDR provider and EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training.
Sex Therapy
Affirming, shame-free support for concerns around intimacy, sexuality, identity, and relationships.
Susie is trained in sex therapy and pursuing AASECT certification.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)–Informed Therapy
A gentle approach that helps you understand the different "parts" of yourself — the ones that protect you, the ones that carry pain, and the core self underneath it all.
Susie integrates IFS into her work (trained, not certified).
Trauma-Informed Cognitive & Dialectical Behavioral Therapies (CBT & DBT)
Practical, skills-based tools for managing difficult emotions, changing unhelpful thought patterns, and building a life that feels livable — all through a trauma-informed lens.
Expressive Arts Therapies
Using creativity — writing, art, movement — as a pathway into healing. Not about making something beautiful. About making something true.
Yoga and Dance/Movement Practices
Trauma-informed, body-based practices that help you reconnect with yourself from the inside out. Available as individual therapy, group offerings, and community classes.
Insurance
At Full Expression Therapies, we do not bill insurance — by choice. This protects your privacy, reduces barriers to care, and allows us to focus on healing rather than the paperwork, labels, and diagnostic requirements insurers impose. Our financial model is rooted in equity and community care: a sliding scale that increases access by allowing clients with greater financial capacity to help sustain lower-cost options for others. This approach honors both client dignity and clinician sustainability, ensuring therapy remains ethical, confidential, and values-driven.
Costs
Individual and couples therapy sessions range from $65 to $145, based on ability to pay. Group offerings, including consultations, range from $20 to $60 depending on format and services. Payment is due at the time of service. We also accept PA Victims Compensation. If you have questions about what rate may be affordable for you, please contact us — rates can be discussed to ensure services remain accessible within the sliding scale.
Donate
Every group at Full Expression Therapies is built on the belief that community healing should be accessible to everyone. Your donation helps keep that real — covering art supplies, books, and room costs that make our groups possible, while allowing us to keep participation fees as low as we can. No contribution is too small. All of it goes directly back to your neighbors and community.
